EMS Strong, "Always In-Service"

Emergency medical services are a vital public service, which is often taken for granted by the community. Most of us don't think about these professionals until we actually need them.

Members of Callaway County EMS stand ready to provide lifesaving care to anyone in need 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

When patients have access to quality emergency care, the survival and recovery rates of those experiencing sudden illness or injury improves dramatically. In addition to emergency medical care, emergency medical services have grown to fill gaps by providing important out of hospital care, including preventative medicine, follow-up care, and access to telemedicine.

The emergency medical services system consists of first responders, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, educators, administrators, pre-hospital nurses, emergency nurses, emergency physicians, trained members of the public, and other out of hospital medical care providers.

The members of Callaway County EMS, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills to ensure that they are "Always In-Service.
