Callaway County Ambulance District is accepting application for a Business Office Specialist.   Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a background in accounting and medical billing? Callaway County EMS is seeking a dedicated Business Office Specialist to join our administrative team. Starting pay is $44,574 annually.

 

As a Business Office Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the District’s financial operations, including ambulance billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and customer service. This position also serves as a key point of contact for patients and insurance providers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of billing and payments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform clerical and technical accounting duties in support of ambulance billing, payroll, accounts payable, and receivable

  • Assist with revenue collection, financial reporting, and daily bank deposits

  • Interact with patients, insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid regarding ambulance services

  • Maintain financial and billing records with accuracy and confidentiality

  • Provide outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone

  • Assist with collections, payment plans, and account maintenance

  • Support Board of Directors as Secretary if appointed

 

Requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in an office environment with strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in calendar management to coordinate schedules efficiently.

  • Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail in all written communications.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.

  • Familiarity with clerical duties including filing, data entry, and document handling.

  • Experience in office management or support roles is preferred.

  • Knowledge of medical / ambulance billing is a plus but not required.

  • Proficient in using computerized systems for various office functions.

The starting salary for Paramedics working a 24/72 hour rotation is $48,800 - $53,800 annually based on experience and qualifications.  

​

The starting salary for Paramedics working a 48/96 hour rotation is $67,000 - $73,900 annually based on experience and qualifications.

​

The starting salary for EMTs working a 24/72 hour rotation is $36,000 - $41,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.

​

The starting salary for EMTs working a 48/96 hour rotation is $49,500 - $56,400 annually based on experience and qualifications.
